Wake The President have a sweet lil' split out with Norway's Je Suis Animal and it's an indie pop cracker. WTP's 'Miss Tierney' is perfect classic Scots jangle pop that really reminds me of Close Lobsters & early Sarah records, you know, that gorgeous guitar line makes me feel 15 again. It's probably the best tune i've heard from them, I love his slightly crumpled Scots accent and the jaunty pace & feelgood factor of the tune is just wonderful. JSA are more along the lines of early Stereolab with a slightly gothic Spectorish echo and their tune finishes far to quickly. That doesn't mean they're holding anyone hostage with a gun in an abandoned vault BTW. It's also worth noting the drummer, Matt, used to be singer & guitarist with Derby's mighty emo shouters Cable.
