Spain's Moving Pictures make their US debut on Shelflife with their cdep "Joie de Vivre." This eight track wonder is filled with Sarah Records-esque bossa pop influenced by Bridge, France Gall, Cardigans, Françoise Hardy, Shoestrings, Laura Watling, Would-Be-Goods, and others. Moving Pictures are one of Spain's premiere pop/bossa nova groups as they combine warm, jazzy sounds with sweet, child-like female vocals. This cd also marks the first co-release between Shelflife and the brilliant Harmony label of Japan.
We've come to love the Moving Pictures over the years. "Joie de Vivre" follows some great releases on both Siesta Records ("Without Friends" cd and the "Hummingbird" 7") and Goodbye Virginia ("My Brightest Star" 7") and we are expecting this release to receive a great deal of attention.
