Thom Gillies (form. TOPS) and Cameron MacLean have been writing songs together since they were teenagers on the East Coast. Since then, the duo has experimented with off the cuff recordings filled with workstation synths, bookend vocal harmonies and spoken word. Their debut album Favors was recorded irregularly over the last three years. The songs are quietly subversive takes on classic pop structures, darkened by studio experimentation and a broad sonic palate. They are populated by unusual characters, and address themes of coming of age, meaning-in-love, and humor in the midst of change.
'Favors' will be available on October 14th via Atelier Ciseaux (for EU/ Rest of the World) and via the Montreal based label Banko Gotiti (for North America). It's a co-release between both labels.
